New Law Bans Plastic Bottles
As of October 1, North Carolina began banning all rigid plastic containers from landfills. This includes any bottle with a neck smaller than the container itself.
Created back in 2005, the legislation focused largely on the recovery of Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) commonly known as plastic number “1″. Usually found in soda and water bottles.
N.C. is building the nations largest facility to recycle PET bottles. The state already has the second largest high-density polyethylene recycling facility. N.C. continues to be a pioneer in “Going Green.”
Have you been recycling in your apartment?
